Tocotrienols increase the activity of immune cells in mice aged.

Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin (soluble in fats) that exists in eight different forms. The term vitamin E is in fact two types of substances:
- Tocopherols, of which there are four types: alpha, beta, gamma, delta-;
- Tocotrienols, of which there are also four types.

Tocopherols are the most familiar forms and most studied, but tocotrienols possess all the properties including antioxidant vitamin E. They are found in large quantities in palm oil. It is also found in rice bran.

To assess the relationship between domestic violence and risk of childhood obesity, the authors tracked 1,595 children between birth and age 5 years and have collected personal information about their mothers. Weight and height of children were identified at age 3 years and 5 years.

At the age of 5 years, 49.4% of children have been exposed to domestic violence and 16.5% obese. Children whose mothers experience violence regularly have 80% more risk of being obese at age 5 than those who have never been exposed to domestic violence.
